Office Assessment

In 2015, the College launched an updated office assessment process as part of the Physician Practice Enhancement Program (PPEP). The office assessment is based on the PPEP Assessment Standards, which reflect mandatory requirements and best practices for community-based clinical offices. It focuses on areas such as emergency medication and equipment, safe vaccine and medication storage and handling, hand hygiene, medical device reprocessing, infection prevention and control, and operational office components.

Registrants who participate in a peer practice assessment undergo a pre-screening of their practices. The information obtained by way of this screening will assist with identifying gaps and necessary follow-up for office related issues.

In addition, with the rollout of this updated office assessment process, there is now a greater emphasis on the role and responsibilities of the clinic medical director.
