College Bylaw Amendment

On September 25, 2014, in support of the Practice Ready Assessment – British Columbia (PRA-BC) pilot program, the College Board approved amendments to sections 2-9, 2-40 to 2-43 and Schedule A of the Bylaws under the Health Professions Act, RSBC 1996, c.183.

The substantive amendments are those set out in sections 2-40 to 2-43 which establish an assessment class of registration with the College for those applicants who have successfully completed a minimum of two years of postgraduate training in a foreign jurisdiction and are selected, through the PRA-BC pilot program, to undergo an assessment of competency prior to being considered for provisional registration with the College. The bylaw for assessment registration is consistent with the national registration standards and has been accepted by the Ministry.
